Show the full potential of Orange's new 5G network on the new iPhone 12 — HDR video quality plus the power to share a moment as it happens.

A baby's first steps launch into an exhilarating citywide adventure — an epic only possible because dad captures it on iPhone 12 and 5G delivers it to grandma.

A film directed by Rudy Rosenberg, set to Asha Bhosle's 'Udi Baba', running across all screens plus print from 28 February 2021, dramatising the first steps as a stray through the city that ends at grandmother's iPhone 12 screen.

No performance figures reported; the film's job was demonstrating 5G's real-time sharing rather than speeds and feeds.

After switching on its 5G network in November 2020, Orange teamed up with Apple to show what the technology unlocks on the new iPhone 12. The result, launched on 28 February 2021, was 'First Steps' — a film by Publicis Conseil directed by Rudy Rosenberg that takes the most familiar of family moments and turns it into something exhilarating.

The spot opens on a child's first steps, then follows the toddler much further than expected: an extraordinary, surprising stroll through the city set to Asha Bhosle's 'Udi Baba'. The imaginary epic finally leads him to his grandmother — who is amazed, because the whole adventure has in fact taken place on the screen of her iPhone 12.

The story is the demonstration: the iPhone 12's HDR video quality and the power of Orange's 5G network let a father bring a unique moment to loved ones 'as if they were there'. The campaign ran across all screens and in print; LBB's coverage reported no performance figures.

5G's promise is real-time richness, so a baby's unrepeatable first steps are the most persuasive thing it could carry.

Ending the film on the grandmother's iPhone 12 screen lands the benefit in one image: distance closed.

HDR video quality is shown rather than claimed — the epic is only credible if the footage looks that good.

A music-driven, humorous tone differentiates a network launch from the usual speed-test arms race.

Demonstrate a network by what it carries, not what it transmits: the family moment is the proof of 5G, not a speed test.

The campaign launched across screens and print on 28 February 2021; LBB's 3 March 2021 report carried no viewership or business results.
