如何实现
Short animated films follow Pinky, Raju and Gopal, kids who spend hours each day searching for food; image-recognition technology integrated with Neo@Ogilvy delivered the films to smartphones that scanned a bucket, extended across social platforms.
产生的效果
Buckets across 300-plus stores and online became add HOPE buckets carrying the audio-visual stories through October; no results figures reported.
背景
In October 2016 Ogilvy Delhi created 'You eat, they eat', a digital campaign for KFC India's add HOPE initiative, under which KFC contributes up to ₹5 from the sale of every bucket to feeding hungry children. The agency saw the bucket itself — the product's most recognisable object — as the place to raise awareness of children who go hungry.
Three short animated films follow Pinky, Raju and Gopal, less fortunate kids who spend hours searching for food every day. The films do not play like ordinary ads: image-recognition technology, integrated with Neo@Ogilvy, delivers the content directly to smartphones when a user scans a bucket they have bought. Executive creative director Ajay Gahlaut said the team decided to use the bucket as the messenger instead of following traditional advertising routes.
KFC India managing director Rahul Shinde framed the stakes — citing the daily toll of diet-related illness among children and millions going to bed hungry — and announced that through October, KFC would contribute to fighting hunger from bucket sales across 300-plus stores and online, making every bucket an add HOPE bucket carrying the stories. No results figures are reported.
为什么有效
A cause message lands hardest while the hand is literally full of food — the bucket scan makes the contrast unavoidable.
Gating the films behind the scan turns a donation mechanic into participation rather than interruption.
Image recognition put the storytelling on phones people already point at their food, with no app or campaign site to visit.
Extending the same stories across social let people who never bought a bucket still meet Pinky, Raju and Gopal.

The packaging your customer is already holding is the most contextual screen in the room.
