要解决的问题
Launch the new Hyundai Venue by disrupting the traditional car-buying campaign cycle with a social-first approach — a 'dream brief' from Hyundai to AnalogFolk Australia.
The idea
Review the car in exactly the time people will actually watch: 25+ four-second reviews, each landing one absurdly sensible benefit, built for each social platform.
如何实现
Over 25 made-for-the-internet reviews ran across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat from 2019; the campaign accumulated 6 million-plus YouTube views with a 48% view-through rate, and on Facebook hit 12% ad recall against a 6% control norm plus a 68% increase in consideration for the Venue among females, its primary target.
产生的效果
Gold in the Automotive category at the 2021 APAC Effie Awards — one of four Golds for Australia and AnalogFolk's first Gold Effie — on top of the recall, view-through and consideration gains.
背景
When Hyundai launched the Venue, it gave AnalogFolk Australia what managing director Matt Robinson called a dream brief: find a way to disrupt the traditional car-buying campaign cycle. The data framed the challenge — over 73% of car buyers use online research and social media as their most trusted information source, but the average online attention span is just 4.1 seconds.
The answer was '4 Second Reviews': more than 25 different, made-for-the-internet reviews delivering absurdly sensible benefits to potential buyers, each sized to the attention span it had to survive. The reviews ran across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat from 2019.
The numbers held up: over 6 million views on YouTube alone and a 48% view-through rate — half of all viewers watching to the end. On Facebook the reviews achieved double the typical ad recall, 12% against a control-group norm of 6%, and the platform reported a 68% increase in consideration for the Venue among females, the vehicle's primary target audience.
In September 2021 the work won Gold in the Automotive category at the APAC Effie Awards — one of four Gold Effies for Australia that year, and AnalogFolk's first Gold Effie. Hyundai Australia marketing director Kevin Goult cited 'the bottom line results that a brilliant strategy combined with data-driven creativity delivered for the Hyundai Venue'.
为什么有效
The format is derived from the medium's physics — 4.1 seconds of attention — instead of cut-down TV logic.
Effectiveness evidence at every level: view-through, recall against control, consideration among the target, and finally an Effie.
It made a challenger case for social-first brand building: a small independent agency beating traditional campaign cycles on a launch budget.
可以借鉴什么
Don't fight shrinking attention spans — build to them: a review that fits the scroll does more for recall than a film anyone skips.
后续
By September 2021 the campaign had run two years across four platforms and taken Gold at the APAC Effies, cementing AnalogFolk's social-first credentials in the Australian market.
