Create a world-first service that merged Burger King's home delivery with online gaming for PlayStation Plus members in Spain.

Burger Clan: a command centre of nine pro gamers took Whopper orders from inside PlayStation Plus on PS4 — players never put down the controller.

From 28 April to 21 May 2017 (Friday–Sunday), members linked their PlayStation Network ID to a Burger King account on a microsite, picked a speciality — football, shooting or driving — and ordered from Burger King en Casa mid-game alongside pros like two-time world champion Herzex. A command centre handled orders, broadcast live from the Gran Vía 69 restaurant in Madrid.

Ran four weekends as a claimed world-first in-platform delivery service; the material discloses no order or sales figures.

Burger King's Spanish home delivery service, Burger King en Casa, launched in 2014. In April 2017 the brand and agency LOLA MullenLowe presented Burger Clan, described as the first home delivery service to operate inside an online gaming platform: for four weekends from 28 April to 21 May 2017 (Fridays to Sundays), PlayStation Plus members in Spain could place Burger King orders from their PS4 console while playing, without pausing or putting down the controller.

To participate, players registered on a microsite and linked their PlayStation Network ID to their Burger King account, then added a speciality — football, shooting or driving — and ordered mid-game alongside hired professionals, among them Alfonso Ramos Cuevas 'Herzex', two-time world champion in his football specialisation (2008 and 2012), and Robert Abrey 'Glaaix', captain of a pro team. Burger King ran a command centre with nine professional gamers to handle the orders, broadcast live from the Burger King restaurant at Gran Vía 69 in central Madrid.

Burger King Spain marketing director Bianca Shen Leme called the action 'totally disruptive... not only in the food sector, but also in the video game industry'; Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain and Portugal marketing director Jorge Huguet framed it as added value for PlayStation Plus members, who had already received early game access, e-sports competitions and exclusive events. The credits list Chacho Puebla as chief creative officer and Fernando Machado as Burger King brand manager.

The insight is physical: gamers won't pause a match to eat, so the ordering interface had to move inside the game platform itself.

Pro gamers as order-takers turn a delivery widget into entertainment and give PlayStation Plus a tangible new benefit.

A four-weekend window made the world-first claim testable and newsworthy without a permanent integration.

Meet your audience inside the thing they won't pause: removing the friction (controller down, app open) is the idea, and the constraint itself designs the service.

Burger Clan ran across the four weekends of 28 April to 21 May 2017. The material records no order volumes, extension or follow-up.
