What it had to solve
Jumbo needed a premium cookware set that could feel refined without becoming ornamental. The design also had to solve ordinary cooking frictions: hot lids, awkward gripping, measuring, vapour circulation, and hob compatibility.
The idea
Treat sauce reduction as a product-design principle: remove every excess detail until heat, grip, measurement, and form all read as one calm system.
How it works
Designer Ahmet Toplu built INFINITY around cylindrical pots, double-wall flat lids, silicone-protected handles, internal measuring scales, aluminium inner walls, and stainless-steel outer walls. The only decorative mark is an embossed elephant logo on the lids.
What it did
The set won Red Dot: Best of the Best 2025. Turkish retail press reported that only 51 products, about 1% of entries from more than 60 countries, received the Best of the Best distinction that year.
Background
INFINITY began with a kitchen idea familiar to cooks: reduce a liquid and the flavour concentrates. Jumbo and designer Ahmet Toplu translated that into a design rule for cookware, stripping away ornamental signals so the set could communicate practical control through a quiet, premium form.
The execution is functional minimalism. Flat double-wall lids limit heat transfer, a plastic ring around the knob improves grip, silicone-wrapped handles stay approachable, internal scales aid measurement, and straight cylindrical pots support even heat and vapour circulation.
Red Dot named INFINITY a Best of the Best winner in Product Design 2025. Perakende.org reported that the 2025 competition marked Red Dot's 70th year and that only 51 products from more than 60 countries received that top distinction.
Why it lands
The core metaphor is legible without needing packaging copy: reduction equals fewer forms and clearer cooking actions.
The design avoids the usual premium-kitchen trap of making cookware decorative at the expense of handling.
Small ergonomic details carry the idea, especially the insulated lids, silicone handles, and internal measurement marks.
It gives a mass-market cookware line an award-stage story without hiding its practical job.
What you can take
A metaphor becomes useful when it edits decisions. 'Reduction' was not copywriting here; it governed heat, grip, silhouette, markings, and material contrast.
Since then
After the award ceremony in Essen on 8 July 2025, Perakende.org reported that INFINITY was shown at the Red Dot Design Museum. The win also positioned Ahmet Toplu as the second Turkish designer to receive Product Design Best of the Best and the first from Turkey in the tableware-kitchen category.
