Hodari's album Iradoh! debuts as a three-act musical film — El Ojo Audio Grand Prix

Brazilian artist Hodari's second album launched as a three-act musical film about three brothers — El Ojo 2025 Audio Grand Prix and a Latin Grammy nomination.

The ideaRelease the album as a three-act musical short film: one family's story — three brothers on different paths — told through its 11 original tracks.substantial

What it had to solve

Hodari, a Brazilian singer, composer and producer signed to Som Livre's Slap label, was launching his second studio album, Iradoh!, with 11 tracks mixing pop, amapiano, R&B, MPB and house. KondZilla — the world's biggest funk channel — and agency Africa Creative wanted a launch format that gave the record more weight than a standard music video.

How it works

In May 2025, Brazilian artist Hodari released his second studio album, Iradoh!, via Som Livre's Slap label — 11 tracks moving between pop, amapiano, R&B, MPB and house. Instead of a conventional music video, the album arrived with a musical short film of the same name, produced by KondZilla, Africa Creative, Sweet Filmes and Som Livre.

The story came from Hodari: three acts following three brothers — a musician, a lawyer and a drug dealer — who grow up without their mother and take radically different paths while sharing the same family root. Directed by Kaique Alves and Thiago Eva, with sound design by A-Gandaia and visual effects by Tribo, the film used the album's tracks as its narrative spine; each song also received its own visualizer.

The craft-heavy concept won the Gran Ojo for Audio & Sound Production at El Ojo 2025, plus a Gold for original-music use, and was nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Long-Form Music Video — KondZilla's third nomination in the category, and Africa Creative's second consecutive one.

The project demonstrated a launch format in which the record is experienced as cinema: one release that carries music, narrative and urban Brazilian culture, and whose production craft itself becomes the awardable work.

Why it lands

  • It reframed the album as a narrative asset: 11 tracks became acts of one story instead of standalone songs.
  • It paired the world's biggest funk channel with an advertising agency, importing feature-film ambition into a music launch.
  • It engineered awardability: sound design, direction and long-form video became the visible craft the juries rewarded.
  • The story — brotherhood across radically different fates — made the launch about something larger than the artist.

What it did

The film won the Gran Ojo for Audio & Sound Production at El Ojo 2025, plus a Gold for original-music use, and was nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Long-Form Music Video — KondZilla's third such nomination. It turned the album-film into a recognized launch format for Brazilian pop.

What you can take

An album is a story asset, not a playlist: when the music carries a narrative, launch it as a film — the format becomes the news, and sound design and direction become awardable craft.

Since then

Iradoh! won El Ojo 2025's Gran Ojo for Audio & Sound Production and a 2025 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Long-Form Music Video, and Africa Creative took its second consecutive Latin Grammy nomination. The project marked KondZilla's move beyond music videos into cinematic releases, setting a template for album-as-film launches in Brazilian pop and giving the album-film format a place in the region's awards conversation.
