K.Lynn turns its lingerie product photos into a breast self-check guide

A Middle East lingerie e-commerce turns model poses into self-exam steps and books mammograms via chatbot — private bra shopping becomes a health check.

The ideaRe-shoot the lingerie collection so every model pose teaches a breast self-exam step, and let the chatbot book mammograms — shopping time becomes check-up time.substantial

What it had to solve

Breast cancer is rising across the Middle East, yet a survey of Arab women found more than 40% had never scheduled a mammogram. K.Lynn, a regional lingerie brand, reaches women in their most private moments — browsing intimate wear at home on its e-commerce site.

How it works

Lingerie e-commerce is usually browsed alone at home, and research found women in the Middle East spend over 20 minutes a day on fashion sites. The same region shows rising breast cancer cases, with a survey finding more than 40% of Arab women had never booked a mammogram.

K.Lynn, working with Leo Burnett Dubai, re-shot its entire collection so that every typical beauty pose became one step of a breast self-examination — hand placement and movement built into the product photography itself, with text explaining each step.

Because the guide lived inside images women already study, the e-commerce site became a first-of-its-kind self-check platform. A chatbot on the site offered breast-health resources and let visitors schedule a mammogram screening at leading hospitals and clinics in the UAE.

The brand turned a moment of private consumption into a recurring health routine, and the work was recognized with Pencils at the 2024 D&AD Awards.

Why it lands

  • It meets women in a behavior they already do daily and privately, instead of asking them to seek out health content.
  • The instructions are inseparable from the product: studying a bra is the moment a hand is already in the right place.
  • Awareness converts into action inside the site — the chatbot schedules the mammogram before the shopper leaves.
  • Because it lives in product photography, the idea can travel to any brand whose imagery touches a health moment.

What it did

The shopping journey itself became the awareness medium, reaching women who would never click a health campaign, and K.Lynn called the result a first-of-its-kind self-check platform. The work won Pencils at the 2024 D&AD Awards and is held in the archive.

What you can take

Instead of interrupting women with a health message, embed the health check in a behavior they already do privately — the medium they trust most is their own shopping.

Since then

The campaign launched across K.Lynn's e-commerce in spring 2023. At the 2024 D&AD Awards, Leo Burnett Dubai counted Self Check-Out among the four campaigns that won it Pencils, and the work also appeared in The One Show's 2024 winners archive.
