KFC Arabia joins Baloot game night with a KFC box, collectible cards and a social film

KFC Arabia pulls up a chair at Saudi Arabia's Baloot table: a game-night KFC box, collectible player cards, a social film and an original Saudi track.

What it had to solve

In Saudi Arabia, Baloot is less a card game than a cultural institution, with rituals, rivalries and a cast of familiar characters around every majlis table. KFC Arabia did not want to run ads around that world; it wanted to be inside the moment where friends already share food and cards.

How it works

In Saudi Arabia, Baloot is not just a card game — it is a cultural institution with its own rituals, rivalries and a cast of unforgettable characters at every majlis table. For KFC Arabia and TBWA\RAAD, that meant the opportunity was not to advertise around the game but to pull up a chair and play by its rules.

The agency partnered with Zat Baloot, described as the leading platform for Baloot players in the Kingdom, and turned the national pastime into a full brand experience: a dedicated KFC Baloot box designed for game night, a set of collectible cards celebrating the personalities every player knows, and player-inspired characters brought to life in a social film.

An original Saudi track scored the whole experience, and the campaign launched in Saudi Arabia in September 2026 across packaging, product, social film and music. Each element was designed to be played with, collected and shared — a meal and a game night combined into one branded moment.

KFC Arabia framed the move as joining an already-established social occasion: Baloot nights are times of conviviality and exchange, so the meal became a natural extension of the game, not an interruption of it.

Why it lands

  • Productizing the ritual — a game-night box and collectible cards — let fans hold the brand in their hands during the moment it wanted to own.
  • Partnering with Zat Baloot put the campaign inside the players' existing world instead of buying space next to it.
  • Characters drawn from familiar table archetypes made a local audience feel the brand understood their culture, not just targeted it.
  • The original Saudi track and social film gave the experience shareable life beyond the table itself.

What it did

The result was Baloot culture reimagined KFC-style: something fans could play with, collect and live rather than just watch, turning an established social eating-and-gaming ritual into the brand's own territory. The launch in September 2026 spread the campaign across packaging, product, social film and music, positioning KFC as a participant in the culture rather than a sponsor hovering outside it.

What you can take

To enter a beloved ritual, make the brand a player inside it: packaging, collectibles and content built from its own characters beat advertising that orbits from outside.

Since then

The campaign launched in Saudi Arabia in September 2026 and was documented on Ads of the World with credits for TBWA\RAAD and production house Rush Films; early coverage framed it as another step in KFC Arabia's run of culturally-rooted local campaigns. No sales or engagement figures had been published at the time of writing, so the work's significance rests on the idea itself: a global brand borrowing the codes of a beloved local game rather than imposing its own.
