Praykinson: prayer becomes Parkinson's voice therapy in Thailand — ADFEST 2026 Silver
Dentsu Thailand and Vajira Hospital built a karaoke-style prayer app that turns Parkinson's speech therapy into a ritual patients already keep.

What it had to solve
Parkinson's disease progressively weakens speech, and singing is the recommended therapy — but few elderly Thai patients sing daily. Vajira Hospital's neurologists noticed what they do keep daily: prayer, practiced by 75.9% of Thais.
How it works
Parkinson's disease affects about one in every 100 elderly Thais, gradually stealing control of movement — and often the voice. Speech therapy can slow that decline, and singing has long been the recommended exercise, but most elderly Thai patients do not sing as part of daily life, so the prescribed therapy rarely became a habit.
Dentsu Creative Thailand looked at what patients actually do every day and found prayer: 75.9% of Thais practice daily prayer. Working with Vajira Hospital's neurologists, the agency built Praykinson, a karaoke-style app in which familiar prayers become a guided speech workout — color-coded text sets rhythm and pace, a real-time EQ bar keeps volume strong, and each session ends with a performance score plus reminders. Patients at Vajira tested it for months, and the interface was simplified for elderly hands.
Launched in July 2025, the app makes rehabilitation invisible inside a spiritual ritual: the same prayer a grandmother recites becomes the exercise that keeps her voice audible to her family. It took Silver in Use of Audio or Voice Technology and Bronze in Breakthrough in Radio & Audio at ADFEST 2026, won four PHNX Awards, and is expanding to hospitals across Thailand with prayers from every faith and secular content, aimed at more than 100,000 Parkinson's patients.

Since then
Praykinson launched in July 2025 and earned a Silver and a Bronze at ADFEST 2026 plus four PHNX Awards. Dentsu Creative Thailand is rolling the app out to hospitals nationwide, widening prayer content to all faiths and adding secular options so every patient can use it, with a stated goal of reaching over 100,000 Parkinson's patients in Thailand and eventually making the tool available worldwide.
