O2's Every Home stacks 100+ German homes in one building — D&AD Production Design

A fictional tower of more than 100 distinct German homes made O2's 'right internet for every home' visible in a single building.

Telefónica Germany (o2)

The ideaCompress 'right internet for every home' into one building: a towering house of 100+ distinct German dwellings, each staged for how its residents livesubstantial

What it had to solve

o2 claimed the best home internet in Germany — DSL, 5G-based WiFi and fibre — but almost nobody knew it sold home internet; the range was broad and abstract, and the problem was awareness, not the product.

How it works

o2 (Telefónica Germany) could connect any German home — ordinary DSL, 5G-based WiFi or fibre — but almost nobody knew it even sold home internet. The range was broad and abstract, so the campaign had to make 'the right internet for every home' something a person could see and remember.

Serviceplan Bubble and Neverest Hamburg answered with The Every Home: a towering fictional building holding more than 100 individual homes, each with its own architecture, interiors and way of living — Bauhaus style next to retro-chic, family flats above one-room apartments. A pizza-delivery story travels up through the building, and every resident the viewer meets is using internet the way people in that kind of home really do.

The result was an image that carried the whole claim in one glance, and a set that kept producing: the campaign rebuilt The Every Home block-by-block in Minecraft, and a live Twitch build event drew 270,000 viewers for 4.7 million minutes of watch time. D&AD archived the production design of the film in its awards.

Why it lands

  • One object compresses an abstract range into a claim you can see in a single frame.
  • Staging real German ways of living lets every viewer find their own home in the building.
  • The improbable tower gives a utility offer the visual surprise it needs to get noticed.
  • The building is an extendable icon: rebuilt in Minecraft, it keeps reaching new audiences.

What it did

The building made the offer concrete and became the campaign's key visual; the Minecraft phase drew 270,000 live viewers for 4.7 million minutes, and the film's production design is archived in D&AD's awards under Production Design.

What you can take

When a product range is broad and abstract, give it one physical object people already understand: a house containing every case makes the claim visible at a glance.

Since then

After the film launched in December 2021, the campaign's key visual was rebuilt from 300,000 Minecraft blocks; German gaming influencers finished the build live on Twitch on 7 April 2022, then the world opened to the community with mini-games and PS5 and Xbox Series X prizes. o2 said the goal was to anchor the brand in young people's minds when they think of fixed networks.
