Ramo turns a blurred logo into a viral unboxing — Colombia's first indie Yellow Pencil

When a TikToker blurred Ramo's logo to avoid free publicity, the brand re-sent the box with everything blurred — and got a bigger unboxing for free.

Ramo

The ideaAnswer a creator who blurred your logo by sending him the same box with every element — even the jersey — deliberately blurred, so the unblurring becomes the content.substantial

What it had to solve

Pugliato, one of Colombia's biggest TikTokers, received football jerseys inside Ramo's iconic box but blurred the brand's logo in his unboxing video to avoid giving it free publicity. His followers instantly recognised the box and demanded to see it.

How it works

Influencers don't do free publicity — especially not stars like Pugliato, one of Colombia's biggest TikTokers. When he got football jerseys inside Ramo's signature box, he deliberately blurred the brand's logo in his unboxing video to avoid giving the company exposure. His effort backfired: followers instantly recognised the iconic box and demanded, "We want the Ramo box!"

Ramo and its agency The Juju jumped in instead of sulking. In 24 hours they recreated the box with a twist — everything inside, even a special-edition jersey, carried a blurred logo. They sent it to Pugliato unsure how he would react. The payoff was a second unboxing, produced for free, whose organic impact was bigger than the original paid collaboration.

The idea worked because it turned the influencer's snub into the campaign itself: the brand joined the joke, and the audience, which had already recognised the box, did the promotion. At the D&AD Awards 2025 the work won a Yellow Pencil in Creator Content and a Wood Pencil in Digital Marketing, making The Juju the first independent Colombian agency to take the award and giving Colombia only its sixth Yellow Pencil since 1962.

Why it lands

  • The brand treated the insult as an invitation, joining the joke instead of complaining or paying for placement.
  • Speed was the idea: delivering a blurred replica within 24 hours kept the moment alive and turned a reply into news.
  • By blurring everything — even the jersey — Ramo made the absence of branding more recognisable than the branding itself.
  • The audience did the promotion: fans recognised the box and demanded the unboxing before the brand had acted.

What it did

Won a D&AD 2025 Yellow Pencil in Creator Content and a Wood Pencil in Digital Marketing — the first Yellow Pencil for an independent Colombian agency and only the sixth in Colombia's history.

What you can take

Don't fight a creator who hides your brand — hand them the blur itself: recreating the box with everything deliberately blurred turned a snub into free content and a cultural moment.

Since then

Blurred Unboxing made The Juju the first independent Colombian agency to win a D&AD Yellow Pencil, one of five Ibero-American Yellow Pencils handed out in 2025 and Colombia's sixth in the award's history. The case became a reference for turning an influencer's snub into organic earned media, and Ramo — a food company celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2025 — gained a modern, playful cultural voice alongside its heritage.
