What it had to solve
Amplify Revolut's NBA Paris sponsorship at NBA House at the Carreau du Temple and the Accor Arena, converting new customers while rewarding existing members.
How it works
Seed designed a monochrome, dark-palette installation with shot clocks, a free throw line and a subtle hint of Revolut blue, bringing a 'premium design aesthetic' into basketball culture. Alongside the 'Change your Game' shooting challenge, a 'Gameball Machine' held member-exclusive rewards: NBA tickets and on-court photo opportunities with NBA legends.
What it did
No results reported; the activation ran at NBA House from January 22 and in the Accor Arena concourse during pre-game and half-time sessions, January 23-25.
Background
For its NBA Paris sponsorship, Revolut handed the brief to youth marketing agency Seed — its second collaboration after 2024's first-ever festival activation at Sziget in Budapest. The job: lean into basketball culture while rewarding Revolut members, at the NBA House fan zone and the main tournament at the Accor Arena.
The central build, 'Change your Game', was a shooting challenge on the concourse: 15 seconds on the clock to sink three hoops, with each consecutive basket raising the prize — and a 'sneaky extra five seconds' for Revolut members. Beside it, the 'Gameball Machine' dispensed ultimate fan rewards reserved for existing members: tickets to NBA games and on-court photos with NBA legends.
The design translated fintech's aesthetic into the arena: sleek materials, a sophisticated dark palette, clean layouts and Revolut blue in the lighting — a polished arcade, built to feed what the agencies called the Parisian appetite for stylish branded pop-ups. Head of partnerships Deborah Wajsbrot framed it as 'basketball culture... in a way that feels both premium and playful', beyond traditional branding.
Why it lands
The reward hierarchy is the membership pitch — extra seconds and exclusive prizes make the difference between fan and member physically playable.
Premium design codes carried the brand into basketball culture rather than a logo slapped onto a hoop.
Live sport gave a digital-only bank a body: tactile play in the concourse beats another QR wall.
What you can take
Membership perks land harder as play: five bonus seconds of game time says 'members matter' louder than any tier chart.
Since then
Ran January 22-25, 2025 across NBA House at the Carreau du Temple and the Accor Arena; no performance results were published.
