Showcase Progressive's savings, coverage and service to young drivers who value good rates, with a flavour of humour beyond the established 'Superstore' and 'Dr. Rick' campaigns

Two :30 hero spots, 'Tom' (an office) and 'Nancy' (a soccer field), plus :15s 'Elevator Buttons' and 'Pizza Party', ran on national TV and social, each ending on 'Don't be Passive Progressive' with switch-and-savings messaging.

No results were reported at launch; Arnold positioned it as the brand's third comic universe, after Flo's Superstore and Dr. Rick.

In December 2025 Progressive launched 'Don't be Passive Progressive', a national campaign created by its agency of record Arnold Worldwide. It targets drivers under 35 who value good rates as everyday costs like groceries rise, showcasing Progressive's savings, coverage and customer service.

The campaign's trick is to dramatise the people who didn't switch: characters in an office and on a soccer field make subtly passive-aggressive comments toward colleagues and friends who have Progressive or are considering it, unable to hide their jealousy. The spots close on the tagline 'Don't be Passive Progressive' with spot-specific savings claims.

SVP group creative director Donnell Johnson said the brand offers 'saving money on car insurance without sacrificing coverage' and that the campaign goes right at the haters while celebrating value hunters who choose Progressive. He credited the team for tapping 'a slightly different flavour of humour' for the brand — passive-aggressive but fun — extending a roster already famous for its Superstore and Dr. Rick worlds.

Under-35 buyers feeling cost pressure respond to concrete savings, but insurance claims invite eye-rolls

Playing the jealous outsider dramatises the benefit from the doubter's side, which defuses the bragging problem

A distinct comedic register keeps the long-running brand world fresh without retiring its famous campaigns

Envy sells switching without bragging: showing the non-customer's jealousy credits the product through a rival's sour grapes instead of the brand's own claims.

As of the December 2025 launch the two :30 spots and two :15 spots were running on national TV and social. LBB listed further Progressive work from Arnold the following July, urging homeowners to embrace their inner parent.
