M&M'S wanted its global Marvel collaboration to work commercially across eight very different APAC markets — Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, the Philippines and Hong Kong — where no single app or platform reaches everyone.

Running 1 April to 31 May 2026 on SUPERFAN's game engine: QR codes on packs, in-store displays and key visuals lead to a game layer onboarded through each market's dominant messaging app (WhatsApp, LINE or KakaoTalk) — no app download or email registration. Purchases are validated by an in-app AI receipt scanner; each verified purchase unlocks a mini-game entry with XP accumulation, multiple entries allowed. Prizes run from a Shanghai Disneyland trip for two to five iPads and TikTok discount vouchers for registrants.

The source records no participation or sales figures; it is positioned as one of the largest purchase-linked gaming deployments in the APAC confectionery space, unifying game deployment, validation and audience intelligence across eight markets.

From 1 April to 31 May 2026, M&M'S ran 'Be a hero with M&M'S | Marvel' across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, the Philippines and Hong Kong — extending its global Marvel collaboration into a purchase-based gaming campaign built on SUPERFAN's game engine and audience intelligence platform.

The mechanic chains scanning to spending to play: consumers scan a QR code on packs, displays or key visuals, onboard through their market's dominant messaging platform — WhatsApp in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong; LINE in Thailand and Taiwan; KakaoTalk in South Korea — then buy M&M'S products and validate receipts with an in-app AI scanner. Each verified purchase unlocks an entry in a gated M&M'S×Marvel mini game, with XP accumulating across plays.

Prizes scale from a grand-prize Shanghai Disneyland trip for two (flights, park tickets, two nights' hotel) through five iPad Wi-Fi 256GB mid-tier wins to TikTok discount vouchers for everyone who registers. SUPERFAN founder Jason Ang framed the platform's pitch: 'When a consumer in Bangkok and a consumer in Seoul are both engaging through our game engine, that's a meaningful connection established.'

Purchase validation makes the promotion directly measurable: entries track real packs sold, not claimed engagement.

Local messaging onboarding removes app downloads and registration — the usual drop-off points in eight-market rollouts.

It adds a transactional layer beneath the brand's ambassador push, where ILLIT fronts the TikTok M dance challenge.

In multi-market APAC, meet consumers on the messaging app they already use and verify the purchase itself — turning a global IP tie-up into measurable transactions instead of impressions.

The campaign ran 1 April to 31 May 2026; the source records no results. It builds on ILLIT's August 2025 appointment as M&M'S first K-pop regional ambassadors under the refreshed 'It's more fun together' tagline.
