'What the Fast!' solves awkward life moments in seconds — Krungsri, ADFEST 2025 Grande

Three 15-second films compress life's most drawn-out, awkward negotiations into seconds — mirroring the instant approval of Krungsri First Choice's card.

What it had to solve

Credit-card rivals in Thailand all promised discounts and perks; Krungsri First Choice's edge was speed and simplicity, aimed at time-poor young consumers. The client asked Leo Burnett to dramatize that USP in the most unexpected way.

How it works

Thai credit-card marketing was a shouting match over perks — cashback, no annual fees, spending controls. Krungsri First Choice had a different edge: speed and simplicity for young, time-poor users. Its challenge to Leo Burnett Thailand was to dramatize that USP in the most unexpected way possible.

The answer was a series of 15-second micro-films about life scenarios that are notoriously slow, drawn-out and awkward — making up with a loved one, asking a father for permission to travel with a partner, confronting a boss. Each one collapses into a resolution within seconds, the same instant gratification the card's application and services promise.

Directed by FACTORY01's Wuthisak Anarnkaporn, the films launched just before Cannes 2024 and won a Film Gold Lion; a year later the work took the Grande Lotus in Online Film at ADFEST 2025 plus two Silvers. The idea proved that a functional promise — 'fast' — can carry an entire campaign if the craft makes the contrast feel universal.

Why it lands

  • It picks three situations everyone recognizes as slow and agonizing, so the payoff lands without explanation.
  • The 15-second format is itself the proof: the constraint mirrors the product's promise.
  • It sells speed without a single shot of the product — the feeling is the argument.
  • By showing the same resolution across three different relationships, the campaign makes 'fast' feel like a life philosophy, not a feature.

What it did

Gold Lion in Film at Cannes Lions 2024, then Grande Lotus (Online Film) plus two Silvers at ADFEST 2025, giving a Thai bank card a globally awarded statement of a simple idea.

What you can take

A commodity promise ('fast service') becomes memorable when you dramatize its opposite at full length: show the slow, painful alternative collapsing into seconds. Constraints sharpen the joke.

Since then

The campaign became the creative benchmark for the brand: after the Cannes Film Gold in June 2024, it collected the Grande Lotus for Online Film at ADFEST 2025 in March, with two additional Silvers, and continued to be cited as an example of a domestic Asian bank using short-form comedy to own a functional promise. For Leo Burnett Thailand and production house FACTORY01, it reaffirmed that 15-second films could carry a financial-services brand on craft alone.
