Promote Ngai's second plug while starting a citywide dialogue about rediscovering and reconnecting with the initial aspirations people lose amid life's constant changes.

The Bridge Agency placed the creative posters at high-traffic locations including Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Mongkok and Kwun Tong; the mysterious 'Mr. J' persona drove curiosity and online discussion until Ngai clarified the stunt and reposted strangers' messages to Mr. Jack on Instagram.

Photos of the posters went viral across social platforms, fuelling shares and user-generated content; netizens praised the stunt on Ngai's Instagram and said they looked forward to hearing the new song.

In April 2023, Hong Kong singer Jeffrey Ngai ran a guerrilla street campaign in collaboration with local PR agency The Bridge Agency to promote his second plug, '遺忘了初心的我們' (Are We Still Together?), released on 21 April.

The street posters, titled 'urgently seeking our initial aspirations', introduced a fictional persona: 'Mr. Jack', a man who has gradually lost his initial aspirations due to life's changes and sincerely hopes someone can help him regain them. The posters went up at high-traffic locations across Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Mongkok and Kwun Tong, and photos went viral across social platforms.

The mysterious 'Mr. J' persona generated buzz and online discussion, amplifying the campaign's reach. Ngai hoped the dialogue would inspire individuals to reflect on their goals and ambitions. After the reveal, he reposted messages strangers had sent to Mr. Jack — 'Have you forgotten something?' — writing that the campaign showed 'the huge amount of love from HongKongers – even if we have not met each other. When we grow up we gradually lose innocence and simplicity in our lives. But it doesn't matter, we can look for it together.'

Marketing-Interactive noted the stunt followed a local tradition of guerrilla clarifications — the previous September, TamJai SamGor had similarly clarified its staged couple's fight outside its Tai Po store, which drew 130 mentions in two days per Meltwater.

The fiction is precisely calibrated to the song's theme — a man who lost his 初心 is the song's narrator before the song exists.

Leaving the posters unbranded let strangers project their own longing onto Mr. Jack, producing replies the campaign could then surface.

Placements in four of Hong Kong's densest shopping districts maximised the photo-to-social pipeline that made it viral.

The singer's own clarification post converted viral curiosity into streams and follower goodwill instead of leaving confusion.

A launch stunt works when the mystery is emotionally load-bearing — strangers replying to a fictional lonely heart is UGC the song then pays off.

The campaign ran around the single's 21 April 2023 release; the source records the viral buzz and positive reactions, with no streaming or chart figures given.
