The Cotswold Company wanted a brand platform built on quality, longevity and timeless style. Research backing it: the7stars' segmentation found 66% of 'Cotswold Considerers' think it is worth investing in large furniture designed to last, and Mintel's 2024 UK home data has three in four Brits ranking quality first, ahead of price.

Supernova, the7stars' in-house production studio, created and produced the 30-second film: one family waking, cooking and relaxing, each room dressed with the brand's furniture under the strapline 'Life is about the company you keep'. The TV and BVOD campaign debuted 16 September 2024 with an evergreen, always-on plan.

Became the launch vehicle for the 'Made for Life' brand platform and the7stars' first work since winning the account; no sales figures were published — the strategy is long-term brand building, not a promotional spike.

The Cotswold Company, the British handcrafted furniture and homeware retailer, launched its new brand platform 'Made for Life' on 16 September 2024 with a 30-second TV and BVOD film called 'The Company You Keep' — the first work from media agency the7stars since it won the full-service account earlier that year.

The film follows a family through one day at home, from waking in the bedroom to cooking in the kitchen to relaxing on the sofa, with the brand's furniture anchoring every room and the strapline 'Life is about the company you keep'. Creative director Mark Robinson of Supernova, the7stars' in-house studio, said the brief was to hold 'a mirror up to the brand' reflecting the customer and the longevity of the products.

The platform rests on research: the7stars' bespoke segmentation found 66% of 'Cotswold Considerers' think it is worth investing in large furniture designed to last a long time, and Mintel's 2024 UK home research has three in four Brits naming quality the most important factor when furniture shopping, ahead of price. Marketing director Jocelyn Dowden framed the insight as celebrating 'the simple yet beautiful rhythms of life'.

The campaign translated a product truth — handcrafted furniture built to last — into an emotional one: the pieces become witnesses to family life.

the7stars built the platform on its own segmentation research, not just creative instinct, anchoring 'quality over price' in data.

An evergreen, always-on strategy signalled brand-building intent rather than a seasonal push.

It was a debut with a thesis: the first work from a new agency defining the whole brand platform, not a one-off ad.

For a brand whose product genuinely lasts decades, the creative job is reframing durability as emotional companionship rather than spec-sheet endurance.

The TV and BVOD campaign debuted on 16 September 2024 as part of the 'Made for Life' platform, run on an evergreen, always-on strategy designed to build brand awareness and drive long-term growth. No performance numbers were published at launch.
