A24's AAA24 relaunch puts a ticket to every new film inside one monthly membership

A24 doubled AAA24 to $9.99/month and added one opening-weekend ticket to every A24 nationwide release, delivered through partner cinemas.

A24

The ideaSell the whole slate as one product: a monthly membership whose headline perk is a ticket to every new A24 film on its opening weekend.substantial

What it had to solve

A24 had built one of film's most devoted fan bases, and its AAA24 membership already bundled a magazine, birthday gifts, shop credits and exclusive content. On December 10, 2024, the studio 'relaunched' the program by making the missing piece central: movie tickets for every release.

How it works

Most studios meet audiences one film at a time: a campaign for this movie, a campaign for the next. A24 had already gone further with AAA24, a fan membership bundling its quarterly magazine, birthday gifts, a monthly shop credit and exclusive social content.

On December 10, 2024, A24 relaunched the program around the thing fans actually wanted — the movies. At $9.99 a month, up from $5, members receive one ticket to every A24 nationwide release on opening weekend, delivered through partner theaters including AMC, Regal and Alamo Drafthouse.

Tickets appear automatically in the Member Center of the A24 app, and the first batch covered Y2K, Queer, Babygirl and The Brutalist, with the studio promising the plan was to include all releases while flagging occasional availability limits.

Why it lands

  • A guaranteed seat on opening weekend makes every release a renewal moment for the subscription, not a one-off sale.
  • Delivering tickets through the studio's own app keeps the fan relationship and its data inside A24's channel.
  • Doubling the price at relaunch was possible because the ticket is a concrete, easy-to-value benefit that justified the increase.
  • Partner cinemas gained a studio that drives its own audience to opening weekends — a shared-interest deal rather than a simple ad buy.

What it did

The relaunch reframed AAA24 from merch club to distribution pipeline: every A24 film becomes a reason the membership exists, and the studio keeps the ticket relationship inside its own app instead of handing fans to cinema chains and streamers.

What you can take

Bundling the whole slate turns a fan base into recurring revenue: when the ticket is included, each release stops being a new sale and becomes a renewal of the relationship.

Since then

The December 2024 relaunch immediately populated the A24 app with tickets for its current and upcoming slate, from The Brutalist to later releases such as Opus and Marty Supreme. Press coverage framed the move as a studio behaving like a subscription brand, converting a taste-driven fan base into predictable monthly revenue. For A24, AAA24 became a direct-to-fan channel that also funnels its audience into partner cinemas on opening weekends, a position few independent studios hold.
